The life with binoculars

I haven't been able to use my binoculars for several days, but yesterday, feeling that I'm loosing something very important in my life, I put everything aside and went... I went to meet with the sky, the sky which had been patiently waiting for me all these days. And I understood that this is the freedom, some people are talking so much about, this is the air, some people can't live without and this is the life that people as myself can't imagine not having...

Fairy Festival

Once a year there is a time, when both children and parents are excited and everyone is waiting for a miricle. And closer to December this feeling becomes more intense. Soon the chimes will strike, everything will start jingling, the fir-tree will wink with it's decorations, Santa Claus will bring long-awaited presents, the fountain from the green shampagne bottle will rush into the ceiling and will flow on everyone with cheerful sparkling rain. Then the minute hand will cross the invisible line, and everyone will come up to the window and look at the night which is swimming in lights. The moon is bright and no binocular is needed to see that all the stars are out on the sky shining for people, forming a starry blizzard. Everyone is waiting that right now, in this magical night the new day will begin, new year and new life for everybody and each one of us.
This is the fairy tale most of us believe in.... And this time is coming....Make sure you are ready for it...

Black starry velvet sky

Last night on the road coming from our friends' house it seemed to me that I heard some kind of sound or noise. It was in a tiny unpaved road in the field, there was noone, only the beauty of the nature and us. At first I pricked up my ears, but then decided that it was very silly of me to do that, that everything was fine and I was just thinking it out. I assured myself that it was some kind of animal or a bird, but not the car. After my these thoughts my husband stopped the car so suddenly and unexpectidly that I almost hit the windshield. Well, after he got out of the car and checked everything he knew, it turned out that one of our tires was flat. I bet that many of you understand our feelings completely. Why did it happen to us, why now, why here, why???? My husband was desperate, I was about to burst into tears, when I looked up in the sky trying to calm myself down and help my husband to fix the car. And I saw it... it was so beautiful and magic, charming and attractive, that I simply drowned and dissolved in it. It felt like the sky swallowed me. I loved being inside it. Looking back I realised that someone had been telling me to slow down and to stop, but I didn't listen, so that accident was the result of my ignorance. So, I decided to make the most of this situation. I got my binoculars out of the car, grabbed my husband, and we started our game of counting the bright diamonds on the black velvet sky...

War Souvenier

I will always remember the house of my grandparents... They lived far in the countryside and were farmers, what most of us can't stand nowadays, but I was proud of them, as I am now. They used to have several cows, chicken, geese and sheep. My brother and I spent in their house almost the whole summer helping them around in the vegetable garden and in the household. I loved how it smelled there, the mixed aroma of hay, mushrooms, flowers, apples, plums, pears and earth as a smoke was hanging above us. There was also a train station close to our house and we could see and more than that, hear the trains every 10 minutes.
My grandfather participated in the world war and told me many interesting stories about that time. He also had many "war souveniers", and when it was my 10th birthday, he gave me his old, I'd say even ancient, binoculars. I remember the feeling when I was holding them in my hands for the very first time. Then later at night my grandfather taught me how to use it, how to find star clusters, planets, how to choose the position for observing and so on. I admired him and he was everything to me at that time. After that he, my brother and I went out hunting at the night the night sky every day. We loved it and were happy together!
When my grandfather passed away, I promised to him and myself, that I will continue watching the sky. And I do! I still love night starry sky, and every time it reminds me about my grandfather, whom I loved and still do.

What Is Love?

I'm an average woman on this planet, no worse no better. I guess most of us have the same problems and thoughts day after day. I'm as many of you have lots of things to take care of during the day that my brain often doesn't respond to my command promptly (works as a bad computer). This daily routine takes over me, but sometimes little things, like today's, change everything. I got an email from my husband today saying that I'm the best woman and wife in this world, that his life became meaningful when we got married... I started crying when I read these words.. crying from happiness and wondering if I'm a good wife indeed. I try and do my best, but I also remember about many nights that I've burned dinner (you can ask my husband too), I know how many laundry is sitting in my washroom and how many dishes in the sink (you don't even need use your binoculars to be able to see both of them). I spend a lot of time for myself focusing on my bizzar ideas about diets and exercises (my husband only laughs when I say that I start a new diet), that sometimes don't have time to simply sit down with my husband and share our days. I remember of all the times I said bad words and did bad things to my husband, yes I remember and I regret about them. I try to be better, but I'm not perfect. Do you recognize yourself in any of this? But here is a good news for you.Yet knowing all this, my husband (as well as yours) still thinks that I am a good wife. I feel so loved and blessed. After this I thought that maybe being a good wife doesn't have anything to do with my burned dinners and piles of dirty clothes. Maybe it's simply about loving and being loved???

Ancient Greek Constellations

When looking at the starry sky for the very first time at dark moonless night, it can seem that there are extremely many stars on the sky, and there is no possible way to count them all. You can’t even find yourself in this universe, not speaking about anything else. But to a big surprise, you eye suddenly starts organizing some of the stars into different figures of various shapes. That's exactly what our ancestors did. By watching the constellations, stars and planets they were creating the clock and compiling the calendar. (what we use today not even thinking about it) For you to know, the first star clusters – constellations- were discovered as early as in Ancient Babylon times (though maybe even earlier).
On a clear night sky with unaided eye you can see about 6000 stars at a time. All stars are devided between 88 constellations. At ancient times the word "constellation" was associated with any star figure, which was created by people and later on personified into real character. Today the sky is devided into sections with distinct boundaries.
The most ancient are said to be the constellations of the Zodiac zone, as a matter of fact many of them have "animal" names such as Aries, Taurus, Leo, Capricorn, etc. By the way, the word "Zodiac", translated from ancient Greek, means "animal circle". Ancient Greece opened to this world a huge atronomical body. For better understanding and remembering names of constellations there were many poetic myths written about them.
Nowadays when we take binoculars and look at the sky, we don't even think or maybe don't know these stories. But for me it’s very interesting to read and learn more. Though we will never be able to learn everything, all the secrets and mysteries of this wonderful world, but at least we can see our part and imagine the rest.

xxX Enjoy the sky as always! Xxx

Christmas love

I guess this is the influence of the Christmas time, of this special, wonderful feeling and fragrant in the air... the aroma of joy and happiness... Yesterday I was asking myself a question about what is the most important thing for me in this world. Before making my own mind I decided to ask some of my friends, relatives, neighbors and collegues the same question. Well, I've got different answers, some of them said family, happiness, health, others career, money, luxury life...
As for me, what I care the most in my life - is LOVE. Love to my husband, parents, brother and sister and everyone I know. Love is the most unique and mystic word as well as feeling in our life. We think we know what it really means, but most of the time we don't... I've been thinking about definition for the word LOVE.. to me it's when you close your eyes and you see only one person, love is flight, it's hight, it's nice words and thoughts, love is to look deep into one's eyes, when your heart beats from only one thought about him, and the most important to me, love is time! Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but to me it is. How can you show love to someone???? I think just being with him when he needs you, when he's sad or happy, be the longer you can, more often you can, be with him always, in your thoughts, dreams and presence. I understand that we don't live in a perfect endless world, our time is precious, everyone knows the saying "Time is gold". And that's why I'm telling you about the time, we give the most valuable to us to the most important people in our lives.
When I look into the sky through my binoculars, I don't rush, I take my time, first of all because I love sky, I love when it's dark, starry and clear and when it's not and secondly, I know that I won't see anything if I don't invest time and patience in it.
Yes, it's Christmas coming, the time of LOVE, let this time be precious to you and your beloved ones.
xxX PS The sky is wonderful! Enjoy it and buy binoculars as Christmas presents! Xxx

Little Prince with Binoculars

Yesterday I was reading over "Le Petit Prince" ( The Little Prince) which I consider the most impressive fairy-tale I"ve ever read in my entire life. It is written and illustrated by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. I've read it in 3 different languages, but it's still the same beautiful and meaningful story. I first read it when I was about 8 years old, I didn't understand much at that time, I think what I liked the best in this book was the pictures... But the older I got the more I understood...
Every time you read over your favourite book (or read it in different language), you find something interesting, something that you think you haven't seen before, or maybe didn't understand or didn't pay attention. That's exactly what happened to me yesterday ... The moment when the little prince was watching the Earth through binoculars....He saw mountains, deserts, cities and towns and many other things... When I was reading this paragraph I thought that I felt the same feeling the little prince was feeling... it was so charming and fascinating. I stopped for a little while, because I realised that our planet is a MIRACLE! It’s gorgeous and it’s very sad, that not all people understand, respect and value it the way they really should.....

Binoculars as a Christmas Present

Each year there are only a few great holidays that make me think very hard and sometimes even wrinkle up my forehead. One of them is Christmas Day. People always ask each other what they want for Christmas, as for me I have one little distinctive feature, I don’t ask this question I always feel what to buy for people I love. I love to see their shining happy eyes when they open their boxes with presents. 2006 Christmas is on its way and I certainly don’t want to miss or be outsider in this present hunt game. I’ve heard enough stories of people either forgetting or running late to buy presents for their families. No, it’s not about me (and hope not about you either).
I remember when my brother and I were little every year at Christmas time our mother was reading us a story about the Christmas Star: “Long, long ago, in the blue sky above the hills of Bethlehem, twinkled the stars. Very early in the morning they would sing together and would tell each other of what they had seen during the long night… One wintry night a new star came to visit the other stars. It was so radiant that its rays shone upon the gray hills and made them light as day.” So, no wonder, that this year I decided to buy my husband a pair of wonderful digital camera binoculars! I don’t know much about them, so I’ve searching internet for some help to invest into something good quality. And suddenly I ran against How to buy binoculars guide. This was exactly what I needed and came in very handy in my choice of binoculars. This guide helped me to choose binoculars from so many different brands and designs. This is the best tool for the beginners!
So, now I have Holiday Unique Gifts not only for my husband, but for my friends and relatives. I found the whole planet of optics and all in one place!

This modern 21st century is growing so fast, everything changes hourly, people develop new high tech machines and equipment, our economy is unstable, our air is being polluted every second, gas prices go up and down, people die, people are born……someone told me that we can’t trust anyone, we need to rely only and totally on ourselves…we can’t live as a community and nation anymore, we are individuals, thriving for our lives, trying to keep up with world forgetting about our morals, feelings and our souls….
You know, despite all these changes in this world, there is something that has been here for a long time and still hasn’t changed… the gorgeous and marvelous sky….. Thousands of years ago, people around the globe began their star gazing experience… they looked at the moon, stars, planets, star clusters and constellations… they even started recording things they were seeing.
I love watching the night sky with my astronomical binocular, I love this feeling of confidence and calmness… It seems like sky hugs me with its wings and I feel as warm and safe as in mom’s hands…

xxX I hope you enjoy the sky as I do… Xxx

Trick or treat on the Halloween sky.

When you go out among monsters and ghosts to look for treats on the dark Halloween sky don’t forget to take your binocular – your little weapon with you, which can safe your life from those goblins and also will show you the best treats ever!!! Stop for a while and take your time to find them on the starry horizon.

The best treat for you all week long will most likely be the Seven Little Sisters Pleiades star cluster, which I have already described to you.
Another celestial treat is Andromeda Galaxy, which is a very close neighbor of our Milky Way Galaxy. In fact, when it’s dark enough you can easily spot Andromeda with your unaided eye, but despite this, Andromeda is the farthest object, which can be seen with the naked eye.
One more treat on the night skies is the second brightest star in the Cygnus constellation. It’s also known as swan. It’s very difficult to see Alberio with the naked eye, but your may be astronomy binocular will show you, that it’s gorgeous colorful double star. And one of its shiners is distinctly blue and the other one – pumpkin orange.
Every object on the sky during this week seems different to me… I don’t know why, I just feel it…
It seems that the skies shout about its beauty and want people to look up…instead of looking down… You know, I have a secret: when I’m feeling down or I’m in bad mood, every time I take my binocular and go out to meet with skies.. They fulfill me, show me the real beauty of this world and give me new hopes and goals to live and work for…

xxX Always enjoy the sky! Xxx
